Often people come to us to build a new website to sell product(s) or share information about their company or organization. Once the design and programming of the website are complete the really tough part begins – Search Engine Optimization (SoCal WebWorks SEO Services). That is, now that you have a website on the Internet how do you attract people to view it. With over 500 new website on the Internet every minute this can be a daunting challenge.
Most SEO efforts break down into one of two categories. Pay-Per-Click ads (PPC ads) and On-Site/Off-Site methods.
Today we will review the first method: Pay-Per-Click ads (PPC ads). With these ads you will be charged every time a visitor clicks on the ad and is directed to your website. These ads are most popular to run on Google, Yahoo Advertising, Facebook Advertising, but can also be on your industry trade websites, directories and social media websites. The cost varies depending on the competition for the keywords that relate to you website. The more specific and targeted your keyword phrase is the less expensive it generally is per click. You can often control a variety of factors to help direct your ad to your targeted audience. These include a daily budget, the hours of the day the ad will run, which days of the week to run your ad and specifying countries and locations for the ad.
PPC ads are very effective and will begin showing on the Internet almost immediately. If you are running a PPC ad on Google you will see your ad appear at the top or right side of the search engine results page (SERP) within minutes. If we refer to the fable of the ‘tortoise and the hare’ PPC ads would be analogous to the hare.
